Munay Ki is a set of nine rites or energetic transmissions that are based on the initiatory practices of shamans from the Andes and the Amazon. The term "Munay Ki" comes from the Quechua language, where "munay" means "universal love" and "ki" (from Japanese) means "energy." Therefore, Munay Ki translates to "energy of love." Another translation is “love in action.”

The rites are considered a series of energetic attunements that are transmitted from one person to another. They are not a specific religion or culture, but rather a spiritual tradition that can be practiced by anyone. The purpose of these rites is to:

  • Heal the wounds of the past: This includes genetic and karmic inheritance.

  • Transform and upgrade the luminous energy field: This is believed to re-inform DNA, helping one to grow a body that heals and ages differently.

  • Facilitate personal and spiritual transformation: The rites are meant to help individuals become people of wisdom and power, and to "dream the world into being"—a world that is desired for future generations.

The nine rites of Munay-Ki are:

  • The Bands of Power: Consists of five energetic bands that act as filters to break down negative energies.

  • The Healer's Rite: Awakens the ability to heal oneself and others.

  • The Harmony Rite: A transmission of archetypes into the chakras.

  • The Seer's Rite: Awakens the ability to perceive the invisible world of energy and spirit.

  • The Daykeeper's Rite: Connects one to a lineage of master healers and helps one step beyond fear.

  • The Wisdomkeeper's Rite: Connects one to a lineage of wise beings from the past and future.

  • The Earthkeeper's Rite: Connects one to the archangels and guardians of all life on Earth.

  • The Starkeeper's Rite: Prepares one for the "time to come" and connects one to a higher consciousness.

  • The Creator's Rite: Awakens the "Creator light" within and brings a sense of stewardship for all creation.

The 10th Rite of Munay Ki, often referred to as the "Rite of the Womb," is a powerful energetic transmission for healing and empowering the feminine. It's also known as the 13th Rite, a name that honors the 13 moons of the year, which are connected to a woman's menstrual cycle.

This rite was not part of the original nine Munay Ki rites that came from the Q'ero shamans of the Andes. Instead, it was gifted to Marcela Lobos, the wife of Dr. Alberto Villoldo (who is credited with bringing the Munay Ki to a wider audience), from a lineage of medicine women in the Peruvian Amazon.

The core message of the Rite of the Womb is: "The womb is not a place to store fear and pain; the womb is to create and give birth to life."

Key aspects of the Rite of the Womb include:

  • Healing Traumatic Wounds: This rite is specifically intended to help women release and heal from wounds related to their wombs. This can include physical and emotional trauma, such as abuse, miscarriage, abortion, and difficult births. It also addresses the pain and suffering that women have carried for generations, from their mothers, grandmothers, and female ancestors.

  • Restoring Feminine Power: The rite helps to reactivate and restore the innate creative power of the womb, which is seen as a sacred center of consciousness. By clearing out stagnant and negative energy, it allows for a deeper connection to one's feminine power and joy.

  • Transmissible to Others: Like the other Munay-Ki rites, the Rite of the Womb is a "seed" of energy that can be transmitted from one person to another. Once a woman has received the rite, she is encouraged to pass it on to other women, helping to spread this healing energy and empower the collective feminine.

  • Not Exclusive to the Munay-Ki Series: Unlike the other nine rites, the Rite of the Womb can be received on its own, without having received the other Munay-Ki initiations.

  • An Energetic Womb: The healing is not limited to those with a physical womb. It is believed that all individuals, including men, have an energetic womb that is the center of their creative and manifestation energy. Therefore, the rite can also be beneficial for men who wish to heal this aspect of their being.
