The Seven Ñustas: Weaving the Rainbow with Mama Occllo

The ancient Andean tradition offers a beautiful path of divine feminine awakening known as the Ñusta Karpay. These seven archetypal energies, or "Princesses" and "Goddesses" of the Andean lineage, represent the elemental forces of nature and the celestial bodies that guide our spiritual evolution. At the Chacana Spiritual Center, we view these rites as a bridge—a literal link to the rainbow—that connects our earthly experience to the cosmic light.
What are the Ñustas?

The Ñustas are the feminine spirits of the mountains (Apus) and waters in Peru. While many are familiar with the masculine energy of the Andes, the Ñustas bring the essential balance of softness, intuition, and creation.
The link to the rainbow (the Kuychi) is significant because each Ñusta corresponds to a specific energy center and a color of the light spectrum. When we initiate into these rites, we are essentially clearing our "luminous energy field" so that we can hold the full frequency of the rainbow, becoming a "Chacana" or a human bridge between heaven and earth.
Meet Mama Occllo: The Mother of Wisdom
While there are seven powerful rites, today we focus on the foundational energy of the first Ñusta: Mama Occllo.

In Andean cosmology, Mama Occllo is the daughter of the Sun and the Moon. She is the archetype of the Earth Mother in her most organized and civilizing form. If Pachamama is the wild, raw earth, Mama Occllo is the wisdom that teaches us how to live upon the earth with grace and purpose.
The Gifts of Mama Occllo:

• Grounding and Stability: She anchors our seeds of intention into the physical realm.
• Vitality: She resides in our root chakra, providing the essential life force needed to manifest our dreams.
• Sacred Feminine Wisdom: She teaches us the "domestic arts" of the soul—how to weave our lives, nurture our communities, and maintain our center amidst chaos.
When you work with the Chacana Spiritual Center to connect with Mama Occllo, you are reclaiming your right to be deeply rooted. She reminds us that before we can reach for the stars or the heights of the rainbow, we must first be firmly planted in our own power.
Integrating the Divine Feminine
Working with the Ñustas is not just about ancient history; it is about modern healing. By connecting with Mama Occllo, you begin the journey of the rainbow path, moving from the density of the earth into the light of the spirit.
