This powerful quote, "I died a hundred times just to be this version of me. Of course I will protect her fiercely," resonates deeply with the principles of shamanic healing and the transformative journeys offered through practices like Munay-Ki and Mesa.  The phrase "I died a hundred times" isn't merely a metaphor; it speaks to the profound transformative process of shedding old, limiting aspects of the self – a process central to shamanic healing and deeply explored within the Munay-Ki and Mesa apprenticeships.

In shamanic traditions, the soul could potentially become fragmented. Trauma, significant life events, and societal pressures can lead to "soul loss," where pieces of our soul become detached from us. This can manifest as feelings of incompleteness, a lack of purpose, or a sense of disconnection from ourselves.  Shamanic healing, including the practices learned through Mesa, address this directly.

The quote's "hundred deaths" can be interpreted as the symbolic death of these missing soul parts. This doesn’t mean that the soul parts die and never return. This is a journey of integration, where these fragmented pieces are acknowledged, mourned, and eventually brought back by a shaman to reintegrate into the whole, resulting in a more complete and authentic self.

The resulting "this version of me" is a whole, integrated self—a tapestry woven from the threads of experience, both positive and negative. This is a self that has confronted its shadows and emerged stronger, more resilient, and fundamentally transformed through the shamanic healing practices taught at the Chacana Spiritual Center.

The saying transcends simple self-love; it's saying that each person is responsible for their own well being. It's a testament to the power of healing in shamanic practices, the resilience of the human spirit, and the unwavering commitment to protecting the integrated, authentic self.  It's a sacred act of reclaiming and cherishing the essence of who we truly are.
