Welcome to Building a Sacred Smudge Stick Workshop
The "Building a Sacred Smudge Stick" workshop is a spiritual journey into the ancient practice of smudging, led by a shamanic practitioner, Madellyne Chandler. Participants will embark on a voyage of discovery, learning about the history and significance of smudging while creating a sacred tool for purification and healing.
In this workshop, you will...
- delve into the origins of smudging, exploring its cultural and spiritual significance across different traditions.
- gain insights into the various herbs commonly used in smudge sticks, such as sage, cedar, and sweetgrass, and their unique properties.
- craft a smudge stick, infusing your sacred bundle with intention and energy.
A selection of string, herbs, sage, and flower petals will be provided to encourage participants to blend their unique combination of ingredients.
While the workshop provides basic materials, participants are encouraged to bring dried herbs or plants that resonate with them personally, adding a deeper layer of meaning to their smudge stick. This interactive aspect allows for a truly personal and meaningful creation process.
Madellyne Chandler is a Medicine Woman trained in the Q'ero Peruvian (incan) tradition of Shamanic Energy Healing. She serves her community as shamanic practioner, certified life coach, and teacher at Chacana Spiritual Center where she offers services of holistic wellness and spiritual and energetic guidance.
